The HI758 mini-photometer is specially designed to measure calcium in seawater. Its wide range enables measurements from 200 to 600 mg/L.
Calcium is necessary for plants and animal feed, as it is an essential constituent of bones, shellfish and plant structures. In seawater, invertebrates (corals, shellfish, etc.) and calcareous algae need sufficient calcium for optimal growth. The natural calcium content of seawater is 400-420 mg/L.
